Deadlines

I've heard that a lack of deadlines is the reason many projects spiral into nothing.  I suppose that's why so many people find success in game jams.  Or why events such as the Independent Games Festival are so important for the community.

With that in mind, I'm setting a release date for my first project - this coming Saturday (July 21, 2012).

Here's what I'm thinking:
  • Today: In written form, establish the series of events that are to take place.  Even though I've already spent some time thinking about the story, I still haven't written anything down!
  • Tuesday and Wednesday: Get all of the story elements into Twine.
  • Thursday: Write the story in a clever and witty manner.
  • Friday: Commission my family to find word errors that have managed to sneak their way into all the great stuff I wrote.  Resolve any broken links.  Play the game lots and lots to make sure my brainchild doesn't explode when taking its first steps.
  • Saturday: 1-1 will be playable from this blog.

That's my plan.
